Grub Control
Grubs are ugly worm-like larvae of beetles who consume and damage the roots of grass plants. Having gluttonous appetites, grubs can decimate an entire area of your lawn, by severing the roots which stops the uptake of water and nutrients. The result? Large brown patches of dead turf in your lawn.
Elimination of the grub population allows the lawn to return to a place where growth of healthy lawn is possible. Since grubs typically kill the grass plants in area in which they feed, replacing the grass through a seeding program is usually necessary. This should be followed up by a fertilization plan that strengthens the growing lawn.
Few Lawn Care Companies in Bucks County include:
Surface Feeding Insect Control
We apply an insect control to your lawn to kill and prevent damage from surface feeding lawn damaging insects. These insects are often difficult to detect and symptoms of damage can be masked by drought conditions. These include Sod Webworms, Bill Bugs, Armyworms and Chinch bugs, which can cause extensive damage before you even know it.
A healthier lawn. If the insects are diagnosed and the application is applied early enough, damage can be minimized and your lawn will be protected against further insect problems.
Lawn Aeration
Aeration makes your lawn much healthier by literally breathing oxygen back into your lawn. It is a mechanical process removing cores of soil from the lawn. This relieves compaction in the soil and provides air, water and nutrient channels into the existing root system. Another important aspect of aeration is removing thatch. Thatch is an accumulation of dead organic matter which builds up at the soil level. Thatch impedes the movement of water and decreases air circulation down to the root level. Core aeration will help restore the health and color back into your lawn. When coupled with seeding and fertilization your lawn will be healthier and thicker.
Lawn Disease Treatment
Have Fungus? Yuck! Not only are they nasty, they are also a pathogen that can quickly destroy your lawn. Our expert technicians selectively apply lawn fungus control application to prevent and cure active lawn diseases. When a pathogen finds the proper environment and host (your lawn), disease causing fungus can do major damage to your lawn. DKC offers a wide range of fungicides to apply and work within your turf care program or as a standalone application.
Is your Soil Too Acidic? This is typical in Buck County. A Lime Treatment can really help
Most types of grass grow best when they have a pH between 6 and 7. If your pH is too low, lawn growth gets stunted and the health of the lawn can be comprised, thus causing weeds and erosion. Adding lime to your turf reduces the acidity of the lawn. Reducing the acidity of your lawn allows the grass to absorb nutrients far more readily. A proper soil acidity has long term positive effects on your lawn. DKC will consult with you and what your needs are based off your personalized soil test.
Soil Testing
Soil Tests will diagnose the exact macronutrients and micronutrients for your soil. It will also show deficiencies of these nutrients that will allow us to create a custom program to improve your turf’s health. DKC will provide soil testing free of charge for any customer who signs up for the Standard Turf Care Program. Soil Tests will aid in designing a turf program specifically for your lawn.
